I've just had a call at the studio to tell me that I have a virus that is building itself up on my computer that will eventually wipe out the whole hard drive. He guided me to press the windows + R and type inf in the box. It shows a string of harmless PNF files that he tells me are corrupted. He then instructs me to go to the Run menu again and run his website www.121usahelp.com which activates a download and and active program. Of course I began to have some fun with him at that point, being the master of cold calls, I'm sure I ruined his day enough for him to know he needs to start looking for another job fast. He will be left out on a lurch.
We all know that all of the major networking sites are .. well, NETWORKED. The applications on our smart phones exchange information continually. They create these PNF files and store data, and our data is stored on their servers When you first log in from a smart phone you will find emails on your program servers from ages and ages ago. Nothing is deleted unless a server crashes, and even then it can usually be saved.
If you are concerned about software and safety download what you need from reputable names you trust and go with the flow. Your own PC has a disc clean up and tools to keep your machine running smooth. Use them often.
What ever you do, be sure you think, say, feel, and do are all in accordance with one another, because not much of what you do on line will ever be erased.
